National Volunteer Week (April 14 -20) is here and it’s an exciting time at HRPA. This is a special week to collectively celebrate our amazing volunteers – the dedicated individuals who continually go above and beyond to support our vibrant community of over 23,000 HRPA members.

In 2024, Every Moment Matters is the theme and it perfectly encapsulates the spirit of volunteerism. Sure, we can tally up the hours contributed by our volunteers. But what can never be quantified are the meaningful moments that sprout from their commitment. These moments, each interaction, every shared effort have shaped the HRPA. These moments unfold daily — ubiquitous and immeasurable, and have positively impacted the HR community and HR profession. And it’s our volunteers that bring these moments to life.

To our dedicated volunteers: thank you! Thank you for your time, passion and dedication. Thank you for the moments, big and small, that make a difference. We sincerely appreciate all that you do.

In a world where gratitude often goes unsaid, please know that your impact does not go unnoticed. We value each and every one of our volunteers, and have written thank you notes to express our appreciation.

As we celebrate National Volunteer Week and its theme, Every Moment Matters, let's take a trip down memory lane and reflect on a few impactful volunteer moments, from the past few years, that have profoundly influenced the success of HRPA and our thriving HR community. (While we can only provide a high-level overview here, these highlights stand as a testament to the countless contributions our volunteers have made towards HRPA's achievements.)

2021

The pandemic turned the world upside down. Yet, in spite of these challenges, our volunteers remained steadfast, showcasing unparalleled dedication. Their strength, empathy and tireless work propelled us through the uncertainties of 2021, ensuring members continued to feel supported while navigating a changing HR landscape.

2022

2022 was the year we leveled up our member and student offerings to ensure HR was strategic, equipped and prepared. We delivered six conferences with over 4000 attendees. We introduced new student programs and events. (In fact, our Student Success Forum had a satisfaction rate of 96%). Among many other achievements, we also released, updated and modernized the Code of Ethics and Rules of Professional Conduct, Professional Standards and Practice Guidelines with the help of our committees and volunteers.

2023

The HRPA had a highly successful year, thanks in large part to our dedicated volunteers and Board. Some key accomplishments include the launch of the first HR Summit (HRPA’s first in-person event since the pandemic), over 800 members received their CHRP, CHRL, or CHRE designations and we introduced innovative virtual learning experiences and Chapter events such as the HR Power Lunch series.

2024

Our membership bundle is expanding and that wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers. FREE microconferences (along with a Member Resources Hub) are now part of the package this year, providing invaluable insights and networking opportunities. A huge thank you to our devoted volunteers for helping to make these microconferences a resounding success.

2027

The future at HRPA is bright! Vision 2027, HRPA’s bold and ambitious strategic plan, propels us forward, opening up a world of possibilities for HRPA members — more amazing volunteer moments and more opportunities to power positive change in the HR community and beyond.
