Attention third-party professional development providers!
If you would like your events to be pre-approved by HRPA for continuing professional development, consider submitting an application:

The purpose of HRPA’s CPD requirement is to ensure that designated members participate in ongoing professional development activities that:
- promote continuing competence and continuing quality improvement;
- remedy identified gaps in knowledge, skills, and competence;
- address changes in practice environments;
- manage the transition to new areas of professional practice; and
- reinforce standards of practice and incorporating advances in technology into one’s practice as a Human Resources professional.
HRPA pre-approves activities towards Continuing Professional Development provided that the activity can be linked to one or more of the CPD objectives listed above and that the content of the activity, program or event is focused on Human Resources content and issues.
Before designated members enrol in a seminar, workshop or conference that is linked directly to one or more of the CPD objectives for their individual HR practice, they are encouraged to look for the HRPA CPD Pre-Approval seal to ensure that the activity has been pre-approved for CPD hours.
Following participation in a pre-approved activity, the providers will issue the designated member a six-digit CPD code. The designated member uses this CPD code to identify the activity when completing their CPD log. Providers do not submit participant lists to HRPA. It is the providers responsibility to provide the CPD code to attendees and the designated member’s responsibility to track their own professional development.
Pre-approved CPD codes are date-specific and only apply to the live offering of the activity. That means a designated member can only add the CPD code to their log if they attended the activity on the date it was offered live. If the designated member accessed the activity on demand at a later date, the activity must be logged manually in the CPD log.
