Volunteering

Volunteering at HRPA is a rewarding membership experience and volunteers are critical to the association’s continued success.

With the expertise and involvement of members, we create awareness of workplace issues, promote excellence in human resources management practices and provide services that support the HR community, knowledge-sharing and continuous professional development.

A Yashar
Anne Yashar, CHRL

Chapter Chair

Anne Yashar, CHRL, is the Human Resources Manager for United Van Lines (Canada) Ltd. and works with all levels of management on providing guidance on a variety of human resources issues including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, performance management, health and safety, with strong focus on financials, regulations and compliance. Anne has been a member of the HRPA and an active member of HRPWT chapter since 2007.

Michael Greenwood CPA, CA, CFP, TEP

Chapter Chair Elect

Michael Greenwood CPA, CA, CFP, TEP brings over 25 years of experience in finance, consulting and business operations. He has specialized in providing insurance and group benefits solutions for the past 15 years. Before launching Pelorus’ benefits practice, he worked for one of Canada’s leading life insurance companies. Prior to entering the insurance industry, Michael worked for a national consulting firm and in the private sector in various financial and senior operational roles. Michael regularly speaks and writes about employee benefits, corporate culture and workplace wellness.

Ann Tavares, CHRL

Chapter Secretary/Treasurer

Ann Tavares, CHRL, brings over 25 years experience in Human Resources Management. As Managing Partner of HR Logic, an independent HR consulting company offering services to small to medium-sized organizations across a variety of industry sectors, Ann works closely with senior executives, providing strategic HR management and execution. A member of HRPA since 1991, Ann started volunteering as a student and in the years since has worked at annual conferences, mentored and been an active member on two of the Membership sub-committees. She is a graduate of King’s University College at Western and the post-graduate HRM program of Humber College.

Natalie Maiola, CHRL

Chair, Chapter Programs/Professional Development Committee

Natalie Maiola, CHRL is a well-rounded HR Generalist and is presently working at Whirlpool Corporation where she is responsible for leading and directing day to day HR activities. Natalie has an overall responsibility to establish and maintain all HR services and delivery of HR advisory support to leaders. She leads the employee lifecycle events for all employees and drives the development of a variety of HR strategies and initiatives. Natalie’s volunteer experience with HRPA includes participating in the HRPWT mentorship program and new member hand-off program. Natalie holds a Bachelor of Arts from York University and a Post Graduate Certificate from Humber College in Human Resources Management .

Angela Vincenzo

Chair, Chapter Mentorship Committee

Angela is a seasoned bilingual leader with over 20 years of both public and private sector experience and has worked in the areas of creating mentorship and diversity and inclusion programs, developed curricula for language courses and adult education courses as well as led compliance and enforcement teams in both the Ontario Human Rights Commission and Employment Practices with the Minsitry of Labour.

Angela acquired her undergraduate degree in modern Languages and Literature in both Italian and French languages from York Unversity; Acquired her Certificate in Adult Education from OISE at the University of Toronto and completed post graduate in Human Resource Management from Humber College. Angela also obtained her Advanced Alternate Dispute Resolution Certificate from Stitt, Feld & Handy in partnership with the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor. Angela has been a member of the West Toronto HRPA since 2009.

Chair, Chapter Communicaitons Committee

Sarah Durbano, CHRL is an HR Director with over 10 years of experience and is presently working at Paymentus Canada Corporation. She is responsible for benefits, employee relations, compensation, performance management and wellness. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Toronto and a Post Graduate Certificate from Humber College in Human Resources Management. She has been a member of the HRPA and the HRPWT chapter since 2005.

Chair, Chapter Student Liaison Committee

Ian currently works as an associate at HRwise, where he is responsible for job evaluation, job profiling and compensation analytics as well as assistance during client interaction and facilitation of client communication. He specializes in Human Resource oriented data analytics, specifically around compensation and job evaluation analysis.

Chair, Chapter Regulatory Liaison Committee

Lovel is a member of the Human Resources Team at Cardinal Health Canada Inc, where she supports their largest Canadian distribution facility. Her main focus is to provide effective coaching and advice to People Leaders, while enhancing the culture and employee engagement that leads to achieve high business results aligned with the company’s core values. She is very passionate about her work and is motivated and driven by the opportunity to add value and make a difference at her organization and through her volunteer position with the HRPAWT.
