Volunteering

Volunteering at HRPA is a rewarding membership experience and volunteers are critical to the association’s continued success.

With the expertise and involvement of members, we create awareness of workplace issues, promote excellence in human resources management practices and provide services that support the HR community, knowledge-sharing and continuous professional development.

HRPA members and students are involved in a variety of volunteer service opportunities including:

Pamela Massicotte

Chapter Chair

Pam has worked in the HR profession for 18+ years. Throughout this time, she has been involved in recruitment, HR planning and most recently, ​behavioural assessments.

In addition to her CHRL, Pam is a CPA, CMA and she has a degree from the University of Toronto with majors in Commerce & Economics.

Pam has served on the Quinte and District Chapter Board for the last two years and she enjoys meeting our membership at our regularly scheduled events.

Over the years, Pam has been involved in the local community and has been a volunteer with Belleville Minor Hockey as well as Girl Guides of Canada. She also was the Chair-CMA, Mideastern District for a number of years.

Dan Baglole

Chapter Secretary/Treasurer & Co-Chair, Chapter Communications

Daniel has been an active member of the HRPA since 2016 and has been working in Human Resources since 2014. Presently, Daniel is the Human Resources and Labour Relations Advisor for L3 MAS located at CFB Trenton. He specializes in Federal labour standards and collective bargaining agreement negotiation. When not networking and discussing the future of work, Daniel enjoys spending time exploring all the Quinte region has to offer and cheering for the Detroit Red Wings in hockey each season.

Appel Maracle, BA.H, B.Ed, M.Ed, CHRL

Chapter Chair Elect & Chair, Chapter Student Liaison

Appel entered into the HR profession after being a secondary school teacher for just over 10 years. Spending now 10 years in the HR profession she has experience in the nine functional areas of the Human Resources Professional Competency Framework. As the Manager of Human Resources and Staff Scheduling for Quinte Health Care, Appel is proud to be a part of a team which supports four local hospitals. She holds undergraduate degrees from Queen’s University, a master’s degree from the University of Melbourne and completed the Human Resources Certificate through Loyalist College. Appel is passionate about supporting people who live and work in the community, loves to continually learn and focus on improvement initiatives.

Paige Summers, CHRP

Chair, Chapter Programs/Professional Development

Paige Summers joined the Belleville Police Service and is the Human Resources and Financial Administrator after completing the Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management program at Loyalist College. She has achieved her CHRP designation.

Paige made the change to the human resource profession following a career in the education field as a teacher, principal and advancement professional overseeing the areas of admissions, marketing and communication, alumni relations, fundraising and special events, and community outreach.

Paige loves to learn and holds a Masters of Educational Administration, Certificate of International School Leadership, Bachelor of Education, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Native Studies.

Paige is actively involved in the community and volunteers at Gleaner’s Food Bank, the Empire Theater and tutoring a student new to Canada.

Co-Chair, Chapter Communications

Michelle has her Bachelors in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University and her Certificate in Human Resources Management from Loyalist College. Currently Michelle is employed with the City of Quinte West as the Human Resources Generalist. Michelle is involved in all areas of Human Resources but has a strong background in recruitment and employee relations.

Michelle has lived in Quinte West for over 20 years and is passionate about learning and community involvement. Michelle was previously on the board in the position of Secretary.

Chair, Chapter Mentorship & Chair, Chapter Regulatory Discussion Groups

Shawn Adams has held positions in both the private and public sector; having owned and operated his own business; musician-directed and structured music programs teaching both children and adult curriculum in the education sector. Shawn’s interest in Human Resources stems from a love of people, recognizing the very essence of the role is what HR is all about. Shawn has extensive experience working with boards, councils and committees and is excited to make a contribution to the Quinte & District Board of Directors.
