At the Human Resources Professionals Association, we believe that better HR makes business better. Volunteering

Volunteering at HRPA is a rewarding membership experience and volunteers are critical to the association’s continued success.

With the expertise and involvement of members, we create awareness of workplace issues, promote excellence in human resources management practices and provide services that support the HR community, knowledge-sharing and continuous professional development.

Andrea Daisley

Chapter Chair

Andrea has over ten years of progressive experience as a human resources generalist, in both the private and public sector. She has spent the last eight years working in municipal government and is currently the Manager of Human Resources for the City of Welland. A lifelong resident of the Niagara Region, Andrea is a graduate of Brock University with a BA in Labour Studies and Political Science and Niagara College with a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management, she has also achieved her CHRL designation. Andrea has been an active member of the Niagara Chapter for a number of years as a volunteer, and on the board of directors, having served as Communications Chair and Mentorship Chair and is looking forward to her role as Chair of the Niagara Chapter.

Chapter Past Chair

Mary is the Senior Manager, Human Resource Business Partners for Ontario Power Generation’s Niagara Operations.  She has spent the last 17 years working in progressively challenging roles in the Niagara Region, where she has cultivated a reputation as an enthusiastic and results oriented HR professional.  A proud alumna of Brock University, Mary hold an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Degree, with a concentration in Human Resources.  She is also a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and a graduate of the Leadership Niagara program.  She is a strong believer in giving back to her chosen profession and to the community.  In 2014, Mary was recognized as HRPAN’s Volunteer of the Year.  Mary is looking forward to the Chair position and another year with the Niagara Board, as they endeavor to enrich the Chapter experience for HRPA Niagara Members.

Chair, Chapter Programs/Professional Development Committee

Mila is the Corporate HR Manager at Conmed Health Care Group in Niagara. She has been progressively growing her Human Resources experience over the last 6 years previously holding positions at both Hotel Dieu Shaver Health & Rehab Centre and Hamilton Health Sciences. Mila holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with a concentration in Business Communications from Brock University, a Human Resources Management Post Graduate Certificate from Niagara College and she obtained her Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) in 2014. She has been an active volunteer in the Niagara community through different organizations and fundraising initiatives. Mila is committed to the Human Resources profession and is excited about the opportunity to help local HR professionals expand their knowledge through her role as Chair, Chapter Programs & PD.

Lisa Purnell

Chapter Chair, Communications Committee

Lisa Purnell is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) with over 10 years of HR and leadership experience.  She is currently working towards obtaining an Associate Certified Coach designation (ACC).

Lisa is self employed as an HR Consultant in Niagara, with clients in various industries including pharmaceuticals and greenhouses.

In her spare time Lisa enjoys playing volleyball and baseball, and spending time with her two children.

Tracey-Dawn Giovannon

Chapter Secretary-Treasurer

Tracey-Dawn Giovannone is a seasoned HR Professional with over 17 years of Human Resources experience.  As the Manager of Recruitment and Volunteer Resources, she has extensive knowledge in the recruitment and selection field. While working within the healthcare industry, she has been instrumental in areas such as Recruitment, Pandemic Planning, Accreditation, Workforce Analysis and Volunteer Resources.  Tracey has her Bachelor of Arts in Human Resources and Labour Relations and is certified as a Hogan Assessor. As a Niagara Health employee, Tracey contributes to the vison of Extraordinary Care through her leadership and dedication to the organization, the employees, the volunteers and the community they serve.

Chair, Chapter Student Liaison Committee

Charlotte is currently working as the Talent Acquisition Specialist at Bosch Rexroth Canada. Charlotte is a recent graduate from the Human Resource Management Graduate Certificate program at Niagara College and currently working towards her CHRP designation. As an active member of HRPA since her time at Niagara College, Charlotte is very grateful for the opportunities that HRPA has provided her and is excited to continue building a strong relationship between the Niagara Chapter and emerging HR professionals studying at Brock University and Niagara College as HRPAN’s Student Liaison.

Chair, Chapter Mentorship Committee

Shari has three years of progressive experience as a human resources generalist, providing a full range of HR services including payroll & benefits, recruitment, health & safety and disability management.  Shari is currently employed as Payroll & Benefits Specialist at Hornblower Niagara Cruises.  Shari is a lifelong resident of Niagara, having graduated from Niagara College and holds her CHRP designation.  She holds JHSC certification and enjoys promoting health and wellness initiatives in the workplace.  Shari prides herself on building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, a skill she mastered while previously employed as a Financial Advisor for 14 years.  Shari is excited to join the HRPAN Board and contribute to the growth of our Membership and the development of our dedicated Members.
