Membership

At the Human Resources Professionals Association, we believe that better HR makes business better. Volunteering

Volunteering at HRPA is a rewarding membership experience and volunteers are critical to the association’s continued success.

With the expertise and involvement of members, we create awareness of workplace issues, promote excellence in human resources management practices and provide services that support the HR community, knowledge-sharing and continuous professional development.

HRPA members and students are involved in a variety of volunteer service opportunities including:

Jerry Velluto, CHRP

Chapter Chair

Jerry began his career in Information Technology over 30 years ago. He has a degree in Mathematics from McMaster University and recently completed his Certificate in Human Resources from Mohawk College. He joined Sun Life ten years ago as a Practice Manager. In this role, he works closely with the HR department and plays a key role in improving work-life balance. Recently, Jerry was recognized for implementing a 360-degree performance feedback process for his team, which was adopted by many business units within the company.

Jerry began to attend Hamilton Chapter events while still a student and joined the board in 2018 as the Regulatory Liaison Chair shortly after achieving his CHRP. He enjoys serving on the board and contributing to the growth of the Hamilton Chapter.

Rosy Montini, CHRL

Chapter Chair Elect & Chapter Student Liaison

Rosy has worked in the Human Resources field for 20+ years. Her broad experience includes Labour/Employee Relations, Compensations/benefits, WSIB, performance & case management, payroll, recruitment and management. Her experience has been in various industries including Non for Profit Sector, Food Manufacturing , Consumer Goods & Packaging Industry and most currently Biotechnology.

Linda Sanelli

Chair, Chapter Communications

Linda Sanelli was born and raised in Stoney Creek,, ON. She completed her 3 Year Business Administration program, specializing in HR from Sheridan College. And most recently completed her certificate through the DeGroote School of Business, Executive Education Program. Linda’s work experience is in the financial industry for over 30+ years. She has had many opportunities as a manager/leader in the finance industry.

Pre-pandemic she started a small consulting business focusing on management/leadership and HR initiatives. In the past Linda has been the Chairperson of the Superintendent East End Police Assoc. And has spent many years volunteering at her children’s school on Parent Council.

Linda enjoys volunteering as it helps her learn and grow. She believes how we value that resource and support the people resources is key to any operation, including volunteer opportunities.

Alisha Mociak, CHRP

Chair, Chapter Programs

Alisha is a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and earned her BA in Psychology from Brock University and her Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management from Niagara College.

Alisha currently works as a Human Resources Business Partner at a credit union and has experience working in public and private sector industries such as the financial sector, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, retail and social services, in both union and non-union environments.

Alisha began volunteering as the Hamilton Chapter Program Director in mid-2020, amidst the pandemic, and has worked closely and creatively with her Chapter to deliver valuable virtual events to the Hamilton Chapter members.

Chapter Secretary-Treasurer

Leah is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL). She has a BComm from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Public Relations from Mohawk College.

Leah currently is the Director of People & Culture in the tech industry. She believes the people are what makes a company, and she continuously strives to create a workplace that fosters growth, engagement, and productivity. With more than a decade of HR leadership experience, she loves the challenge of creating high functioning teams, increasing employee engagement, and helping to grow small companies. Having worked extensively in the construction, retail, and tech industries, Leah has a proven history of versatility and understands the value of creating and implementing creative solutions to improve the employee experience.

Leah has held various positions with the Hamilton Chapter board since 2016, including Communications and Chapter Chair.
