To provide advice as it relates to advancing the skills and capabilities of HRPA members.

Mandate of Panel

To identify, research and recommend topics for, and providers of, continuing professional development for human resources professionals and to educate the broader business community about the role of HR.

Reporting Relationship

The Programs Consultation Panel reports to HRPA’s VP Marketing, Membership & Professional Development through the Director, Professional Development, Lata Viseu.

Panel Responsibilities

Research, identify, review and recommend subject matter for HRPA seminars, workshops, webinars, broadcasts (longer form webcasts), and certificate programs. This extends to recommendation and, where possible, evaluation of facilitators and instructors.

The starting point for this review process is:

  1. Submissions to HRPA’s Speakers Database;

  2. Member feedback from the Annual HRPA Member Satisfaction Survey, in terms of their self-identified CPD priorities;

  3. Additionally, panel members are encouraged to bring forward new topics/providers that will enrich the learning experience of HRPA members.

The objective is to assist in the development of HRPA’s annual continuing professional development calendar. Preference will be given to recommendations that:

  1. Are aligned with member survey feedback;

  2. Can be delivered either by webcast or, if in person, in major markets across Ontario, not just the GTA;

  3. Respect members’ concern for cost and value.

The Director, Professional Development, will make the final decision as to which recommendations to accept.

Timing

Panel members may make recommendations throughout the year and evaluation of speaker submissions is ongoing. But particular emphasis is placed on the ability to participate during the spring and summer period to help shape, and budget for the Fall, Winter, Spring CPD calendar.
