Managing a diverse group of disparate personalities and work styles is never an easy undertaking. And as the business landscape shifts further toward knowledge work, the importance of working as a team on complex tasks is paramount.

So how can HR help build strong, effective and cohesive teams in order to deliver on business strategy?

Building Teams teaches managers how to use effective structure and integration to ensure they have high-performing teams. Using a practical tool, the UNITE™ Team Leader Model™, participants will gain the skill and confidence required to build teams that are focused, aligned, accountable and consistently delivers results. Participants will practice their new skills by developing an action plan for their team.

This one-day, instructor lead, interactive workshop will equip participants with a fully-formed action plan that they can immediately apply to their own team. Instruction is based on step-by-step building of knowledge and skills over the course of the class, using case studies, exercises, worksheets and planning opportunities.


Learning objectives:

  • Explore the roles of the manager as both a team follower and a team leader
  • Learn how to align structured and integrated plans with the structure of your team
  • Experience the role of trust, clear communication and building commitment in an effective team
  • Learn how to use the UNITE Team Leader Model to align and engage direct reports and build team commitment.
