The June 2020 to May 2021 renewal will open in the spring.
HRPA's registration year runs from June 1st to May 31st every year, and all registrants (members and students) must renew their registration annually. All current registrations will expire on May 31, 2020. To renew your registration, please use our online portal.
For questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
How do I renew?
Registrants may renew their current registration through our online renewal portal by completing the renewal questionnaire and submitting their renewal dues. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express payments. Please note that your renewal dues are non-refundable. An email confirming your renewal, including a receipt, will be sent once your renewal has been completed.
What are the renewal dues?
Your renewal dues are reflective of your registration class. The renewal dues for 2020-2021 are outlined in the table at the bottom of the page. Before proceeding to the renewal dues below, please review the following information.
Please note that as a matter of policy, if your registration class has changed since your renewal invoice was generated, your dues for the current year will be those for your original registration class and the change will be reflected in next year's renewal invoice.
If you require assistance with your renewal dues due to the financial impact of life events (such as retirement, unemployment or parental leave), we encourage you to consider applying for the Renewal Dues Assistance Program (RDAP). Registrants who wish to apply for assistance must submit their RDAP application by May 31st.
What happens if I don't renew by May 31st?
Once May 31st has passed, registrants may still renew but the following late fees will apply:
- Students: $20
- Renewal under the Renewal Dues Assistance Program: $50
- Members: $100
We provide a four months grace period for late renewal until September 30th. The purpose of that grace period is for HRPA to be able to run the suspension-revocation cycle and provide registrants with sufficient notice of their registration and/or designation potentially lapsing. Please note that HRPA's By-laws require us to record suspensions or revocations in our online Public Register.
The suspension-revocation cycle is set out in s.9.42 of HRPA's member approved By-laws and consists of three stages. The suspension-revocation cycle begins immediately after the May 31st renewal deadline has passed:
- 30 Days Notice of Impending Suspension and Revocation in mid-June sent by email and mail
- Suspension on July 15th (or the following Monday if July 15th falls on a weekend), followed by the 60 Days Notice of Suspension and Impending Revocation in late July sent by email and mail
- Revocation on September 30th (or the following Monday if September 30th falls on a weekend), followed by the Notice of Revocation in mid-October sent by email and mail. Revocation means that you have lost all the rights and privileges relating to your registration.
How do I cancel my current registration?
If you no longer wish to be part of HRPA, you may resign your registration at any time by submitting a completed Resignation form. You may send the completed form via email to email@example.com or mailing it to HRPA 200-150 Bloor St West Toronto, ON M5S 2X9. For designated members, we would strongly advise you to review our Reinstatement and Re-achievement Policy before submitting your resignation form. Please note that HRPA cannot accept resignations over the phone.
