What is HRPA Edge?​

​​HRPA Edge is the Human Resources Professionals Association’s (HRPA) HR interns​​hip program. It matches recently granted Certified Human Resources Professionals​ (CHRP)  ​with short-term, paid HR internships with participating host employers.

These CHRP members are young professionals who have completed HR academic programs consistenet with HRPA's professional compency framework in addition to their college or university educations and have passed the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam, a comprehensive test of their HR knowledge, the Employment Law Exam and the Job Ready program.

We are always on the lookout for organizations to host our HRPA Edge interns.

The Career Edge Advantage:
If, in the first six weeks of an internship, the intern leaves voluntarily or involuntarily, ​Career Edge will credit the employer with $1,000 towards the cost of replacing the intern.

How does it work?

HRPA Edge is administered by Career Edge Organization (CEO), a social enterprise that is passionate about connecting highly motivated, well qualified interns with leading organizations since 1996. HRPA provides the talent and CEO takes care of the details.

  • Single posting access to recent graduates, graduates with self-declared disabilities and internationally qualified professionals

  • Targeted outreach to encourage qualified registrants to apply for positions

  • Convenient payment options (annually, quarterly, monthly, credit card)

  • Ability to hire intern full-time at any time during/after internship – without additional fee

CHRPs are knowledgeable
​​CHRP's have completed their university or college education, including all the academic qualifications. They have also passed the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam (CKE), a 3.5 hour test of their HR knowledge.​​

​New HRPA Edge HR Intern rates

HRPA Edge has increased the stipen​d paid to interns. Not only will this enable us to continue to attract top talent, it is also expected to simplify the hiring and retention processes for host employers. Please refer to the chart below for an example of the total cost by internship terms, encompassing stipends, operating costs and payroll taxes.​
