Position Title: Senior Event Specialist (2 Positions) and Event Specialist (1 Position)
Location: Toronto, hybrid (in-office 2-days per week) Type: Full-Time
Target Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 (compensation aligned based on the level of the position)

As part of HRPA’s events team, you’ll bring execution, creativity, and independence to the planning and delivery of corporate events, including multi-speaker learning sessions, member community-building conferences, and more. You’ll help position HRPA’s events as a benchmark for excellence in the corporate space, fostering deeper member engagement and supporting HRPA’s mission of elevating the HR profession. You’ll combine expertise in logistics with a flair for style and design, ensuring every event is as stunning as it is seamless.

Content Curator: You’ll develop event agendas that are innovative, engaging, and aligned with HRPA’s values and IDEA principles. You’ll collaborate with speakers to ensure diverse representation and handle logistical details that guarantee a seamless delivery of high-quality programming.

Event Execution: You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end planning and delivery of corporate events. This includes selecting venues that reflect the desired style and ambiance, coordinating with vendors, managing budgets, and ensuring that every event is visually captivating and logistically flawless.

Self-Starter: You’ll work autonomously to make strategic decisions that balance creativity with practicality. You’ll optimize and manage event technologies, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure inclusive, accessible, and memorable experiences for all attendees.

Collaborative Partner: You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, sponsors, and external vendors. You’ll ensure effective communication and coordination, creating a smooth planning process and fostering trust among stakeholders.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a business-related program. Education or accreditation in event planning or event management is preferred. PMP designation is an asset.

Experience:
– 5+ years of corporate event planning experience (1-3 years for the Event Specialist role)
– 5+ years of project coordination or project management, demonstrating expertise in managing complex timelines and deliverables (1-3 years for the Event Specialist role).
– 5+ years of stakeholder engagement experience, fostering strong relationships with vendors, sponsors, and internal teams (1-3 years for the Event Specialist role).

Technical Expertise: Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), event technology platforms (e.g., ON24, EventMobi), and Microsoft Office Suite.

Creative Vision: An eye for style, venue aesthetics, and the ability to craft events that align with HRPA’s values while delivering a “wow” factor.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with speakers, attendees, and partners.
