HRPA pre-approves activities towards Continuing Professional Development. Before enrolling in a seminar, workshop or conference, look for the HRPA CPD badge and be guaranteed that the program will be accepted for CPD credit.
For the purposes of meeting the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements through professional development activities, consult your CPD log. The log outlines development categories and types of activities that fall within each category. Each activity is allotted CPD hours. You do not need to accrue CPD hours in all categories.
HRPA has pre-approved third party programs and program providers through its CPD pre-approval process. Following participation at a pre-approved activity, these providers will issue the member an ID number. The member uses this ID to identify the activity when completing and submitting the CPD log. Providers do not submit participant lists to HRPA. It is the member's responsibility to track their own professional development.
Pre-approved CPD codes are date specific and only apply to the live offering of the activity. For example, a member can only add the CPD code to their log if they attended the activity on the date it was offered live. If attended on a later date on demand but within the members CPD cycle, the activity must be logged manually in the CPD log.
Even if an activity has not been pre-approved it may still qualify for CPD.
Members are encouraged to consider the following question when selecting their CPD activities: "Does the activity further my abilities as an HR practitioner and strategic business partner?" If the answer is "yes" then log the activity.
