Ernest Ogunleye receives Distinguished Human Resources Professional Award

Toronto, May 28, 2021 – The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) is proud to announce the winner of its 2021 Award of Distinction.

During the HRPA 2021 Annual Meeting, Ernest Ogunleye, CPHR, Owner & Principal Consultant, EON Performance Solutions, received the Distinguished Human Resources Professional Award, a prestigious honorary title under the HRPA Awards of Distinction.

The long-time HR professional was presented with the award for his commitment to learning and mentoring the future generation of leaders. He was also recognized for his leadership in building strategic coalitions aimed to promote the importance of the human resources profession to business leaders and the wider public.

The HRPA Awards of Distinction are awarded each year to HRPA members who have exemplified excellence in the HR field. Recipients are rewarded for consistently demonstrating their skill, professionalism, dedication, and hard work in their profession.

Ernest Ogunleye

Ernest Ogunleye has been a member of the HRPA since 2002. He has been actively involved with the Halton and Durham Chapters, serving as Chair of the Halton Chapter from 2005 to 2007. Ernest was elected to serve on the Durham Chapter’s Board as a Director from 2015 to 2020, and served as the Chapter’s Mentorship Chair, Student Liaison Chair and Chapter Chair during that time as well. Since late 2018, Ernest has played a key role in helping organize the HRPA Eastern Conference through his involvement on the organizing Committee for that event.

Ernest’s contributions to the broader HR community are extensive, spanning through a rich background of achievements in his 20+ years experience as an educator, academic and HR consultant.  Ernest is involved with the Whitby Chamber of Commerce, advocating on behalf of the HR profession to business leaders.

From 2018 to 2019, Ernest served as a part-time professor at the Durham College, teaching HR and business courses. He has also served as a part-time advisor and educator at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He has made several noteworthy contributions to thought leadership on HR. Most notably, he wrote an HR training manual for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation.

Ernest has a strong commitment to our youth and the next generation of HR professionals, and strongly believes in their ability to carry the torch forward for the future of our practice.
