Disability Management/Workplace Accessibility tools and resources

HRPA partners with the National Institute of Disability Management and Research (NIDMAR) and Pacific Coast University for Workplace Health Sciences (PCU-WHS) to provide members with workplace disability management assessment tools and educational resources to help establish effective disability management programs in Ontario workplaces.

Disability Management Self Assessment (DMSA)

NIDMAR’s DMSA assessment tool allows organizations to undertake a basic self-assessment of their current return to work and disability management efforts and obtain a report that provides an overview of their current performance. The report also identifies what the best practice is, thus allowing the organization to determine which areas of their program require review and/or improvement. Disability Management/Return to Work Professional Development and Certification Program

Pacific Coast University for Workplace Health Science's (PCU-WHS) continuing education program provides HRPA members with access to disability management education resources to help them better accommodate persons with disabilities in the workplace, including the Certified Disability Management Professional (CDMP) and Certified Return To Work Coordinator (CRTWC) designations granted by the International Disability Management Standards Council.  PCU-WHS will upgrade its program content to include compliance requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its regulations.
