We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Alison Staples, CHRE, MBA, as the new Chair of the HRPA’s Board of Directors.

Alison is a transformative HR leader with more than 20 years of experience driving organizational excellence, inclusion, and change across Canada’s non-profit and corporate sectors. She currently serves as Chief People Officer & Chief Privacy Officer at March of Dimes Canada, where she leads enterprise-wide initiatives that strengthen culture, leadership, and accessibility.

A passionate advocate for equity and future-ready leadership, Alison brings deep governance experience and a forward-looking perspective to her role as Chair.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Assad Mallick for his outstanding leadership and dedication during his tenure as Board Chair. His contributions have been instrumental in advancing HRPA’s mission.

Dear Members and Students, 

It is a tremendous honour to serve as the new Chair of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). 

As I step into this role, I would like to begin by expressing my sincere gratitude to Assad Mallick, our outgoing Chair, for his dedicated service and thoughtful leadership. His commitment to advancing the HR profession and strengthening our association has left a lasting impact. 

I also extend heartfelt thanks to Jodi Kovitz and the HRPA management team for their visionary leadership and tireless commitment to advancing our mission. Their work continues to strengthen the HRPA as a trusted, future-focused organization and professional association. 

To my colleagues on the Board of Directors, thank you for your stewardship and dedication. Together, we will continue to uphold the highest standards of governance and accountability as we guide the HRPA into its next chapter. 

Looking ahead, I am energized by the opportunity to build on the momentum of HRPA’s Strategic Plan: Vision 2027. This plan reflects our shared ambition to elevate the HR profession, empower our members, and expand the HRPA’s influence in shaping the future of work in Ontario and beyond. 

Together, we will:

  • Champion ethical, inclusive, and forward-thinking HR practices.
  • Enhance member engagement, learning, and professional growth.
  • Advance regulatory excellence and uphold public trust.
  • Foster meaningful connections across our community, chapters and networks.
