Volunteering

Volunteering at HRPA is a rewarding membership experience and volunteers are critical to the association’s continued success.

With the expertise and involvement of members, we create awareness of workplace issues, promote excellence in human resources management practices and provide services that support the HR community, knowledge-sharing and continuous professional development.

Rosy Montini, CHRL

Chapter Chair

Rosy has worked in the Human Resources field for 20+ years. Her broad experience includes Labour/Employee Relations, Compensations/benefits, WSIB, performance & case management, payroll, recruitment and management. Her experience has been in various industries including Non for Profit Sector, Food Manufacturing , Consumer Goods & Packaging Industry and most currently Biotechnology.

Rebecca Cardwell
Rebecca Cardwell

Chair, Chapter Student Liaison

Rebecca Cardwell is a dynamic HR practitioner with over 16 years of experience in all areas of Human Resources including talent engagement strategy, total rewards, performance management, employee wellness, and employee training. Her industry expertise includes education, logistics, and now manufacturing. Rebecca possesses experiences in several aspects of human resources including recruitment, employee training, incentives, labour relations, benefits and payroll. She has a track record of coaching in the areas of transformational leadership, team building, and managing change, with proven success in local and international recruitment. She holds a master’s degree in Human Resources Management (MHRM) as well as a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation. At Maple Leaf Foods, Rebecca serves as the People Leader for the Employee Services team at the Hamilton facility. This is a multi-union food manufacturing site with over 1000 employees. As part of her role, she leads the Employee Services team to provide exceptional customer service to their team members, leads by living up to the Maple Leaf values, and invests in training and developing the employees.

Jyoti Grewal

Secretary/Treasurer

I am an experienced Human Resources professional with a strong background in HR management, talent acquisition, employee relations, and strategic planning. With over 15 years of experience in various HR roles, I have successfully contributed to the growth and success of organizations across different industries such as manufacturing, banking, healthcare, and staffing.

My educational background includes a Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources from Mohawk College and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University.

Currently, I hold the position of Head of Human Resources and Administration at Lohmann Breeders Canada Ltd. In this role, I am responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of effective HR programs and policies across multiple locations in Canada and the U.S. I have demonstrated expertise in legal compliance, recruitment, training, performance management, compensation planning, and employee relations. By collaborating closely with the CEO and senior executives, I have played a crucial role in building and transforming the business, serving as a trusted advisor, and providing strategic guidance to Management.

I am passionate about helping the HRPA make an impact in the Hamilton HR community, and work towards creating an environment where all HR professionals can learn, connect, and grow.

Nikita Rao

Chair, Chapter Mentorship

Nikita completed her undergraduate studies through McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, Double Major in Labour Studies and Communication Studies and also completed her Master of Industrial Relations through Queen’s University. She currently holds the Certified Human Resources Leader designation.

Nikita is currently an HR Manager with Emerson, and her experience to date has been in the manufacturing industry. She has experience in all aspects of human resources, has a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with employees at all levels of an organization, and is a skilled communicator who can navigate complex situations. Passionate about creating positive work environments that foster engagement and productivity, Nikita is committed to developing programs that attract and retain top talent while ensuring employees feel supported and valued.

Nikita looks forward to working with the Hamilton Chapter Board as the Mentorship Chair and can’t wait to support and contribute to the events and initiatives over the next term.

Linda Sanelli
Linda Sanelli

Chair, Chapter Communications

Linda Sanelli was born and raised in Stoney Creek,, ON. She completed her 3 Year Business Administration program, specializing in HR from Sheridan College. And most recently completed her certificate through the DeGroote School of Business, Executive Education Program. Linda’s work experience is in the financial industry for over 30+ years. She has had many opportunities as a manager/leader in the finance industry.

Pre-pandemic she started a small consulting business focusing on management/leadership and HR initiatives. In the past Linda has been the Chairperson of the Superintendent East End Police Assoc. And has spent many years volunteering at her children’s school on Parent Council.

Linda enjoys volunteering as it helps her learn and grow. She believes how we value that resource and support the people resources is key to any operation, including volunteer opportunities.
