About the presenter: Dr. Mike Takes, BSc., CSCS, DC

In 1999, Dr. Takes, received his Doctorate in Chiropractic (DC) and diploma in acupuncture from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, Ill. Also in 1999, he received certifications as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and as an active release technique provider (ART). In 1994, he received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Western Ontario, where he also played varsity soccer. Presently, Dr. Takes is the National Manager of Chiropractic Services for GoodLife Fitness Clubs, Ltd, and runs two private practices in the Toronto area.

His philosophy: The relationship between muscles and joints is very interactive and interdependent. You can’t have an injury to one and not affect the other. It is imperative that treatment addresses both muscles/fascia and joints and is why manipulation, ART® and exercise play a major role in the treatment plan.
