Accessibility Works Webinar Series: The AODA Employment Standard for Businesses with 1-49 Employees


The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) seeks to create an accessible Ontario by 2025.

This 1-hour webinar provides the information you need to comply with the AODA’s Employment Standard and its requirements for businesses with 1-49 employees. Presented by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA), the webinar provides:

  • A high-level overview of AODA requirements for small business
  • A focus on accessibility requirements through the employment life cycle
  • Access to available resources for businesses
  • High level understanding of what is required to comply with the employment standard as it relates to businesses with 49 or fewer employees

Ontario businesses with 1-49 employees looking to gain a better understanding of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), specifically the Employment Standard and how it affects their organization.


About the presenter: Louie Di Palma, Director, SME Programs, Ontario Chamber of Commerce

As the Director of SME Programs, Louie is responsible for developing and implementing initiatives of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce that are designed to strengthen the business climate of Ontario and support our members by providing them with access to resources. During his career with the Government of Ontario, Louie held a number of senior management positions in policy, planning and direct operations with several Ministries including the Ministry of the Solicitor General and Correctional Services, the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation and the Ministry of Health Promotion.


This is the first of twelve webinars of the Accessibility Works Webinar Series surrounding the Employment Standard under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
