The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 aims to make Ontario accessible to all citizens by breaking down barriers. All Ontario organizations must comply with the AODA’s accessibility standards as they’re rolled out.

As a key consultant and partner with the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario, HRPA is producing ongoing AODA compliance webinars for its members and Ontario organizations.

“The key to a successful implementation is to make sure that organizations have the tools and knowledge to become compliant with the standards,” said HRPA CEO Bill Greenhalgh. “These webinars will go a long way in helping Ontario workplaces meet their obligations.”

Through the EnAbling Change Partnership Program, HRPA is working with government to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.

Together, we are developing tools and resources that will:

  • Help businesses and organizations understand how to meet the needs of people with disabilities.
  • Be tailored to suit a variety of businesses in a number of sectors.
  • Support the requirements in Ontario’s accessibility legislation.

“With more standards coming in the future, there will clearly need to be more workplace tools in place for organizations and HR professionals to assist them in complying with the legislation,” said Greenhalgh.
