As of June 1, 2013, HRPA is changing the way we describe the process by which Certified Human Resources Professionals (CHRPs) maintain their designation. The change is two-part:
a. The CHRP ‘Recertification’ requirement will be renamed the ‘Continuing Professional Development’ or CPD requirement.
b. Instead of converting professional development hours to ‘points’ by multiplying each hour by 1.5, that conversion calculation is removed and the activities will be reported in hours. For example as of June 1, 2013, 20 hours of professional development at a conference will be reported as 20 hours, not 30 points. This means that instead of accruing 100 points every three years, CHRP members must accrue 66.67 hours (66 hours and 40 minutes) of CPD every three years.
