Offering HRPA Recertification Approved Programs

HRPA has a program of pre-approving professional development activities hosted by external providers towards credit for Recertification.  There are two options available. A summary of each is provided below with guidebooks available on the right hand side menu.

Provider Approval (Recertification Partnership)

This option is ideal for companies, that offer multiple professional development programs in Human Resources and Business within a year.  Upon review by HRPA, they would be approved as having their activities satisfy the requirements for Recertification credit. This approval is based upon past and future programs as well as criteria used by the International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET).  Accredited partners would be allowed to use the HRPA recertification seals on marketing material and completion certificates.  A link to the partner’s website would be featured on the recertification section of our website. Individual activities from the partner are submitted to HRPA and issued an ID number that CHRP participants record into their online recertification log. The partner is responsible for distribution of that ID to participants that complete the program.

Individual Event Approval

This option is for companies seeking pre-approved HRPA recertification credits for a single professional development program.  In advance of being offered, individual program(s) would be submitted to HRPA by suppliers to be assessed as meeting the requirements for Recertification credit.  To be eligible for recertification pre-approval the program must further the professional’s body of knowledge.  There must be a direct describable link between the knowledge taught and how it furthers a professional’s ability to function as a HR practitioner and strategic business partner.  Events that focus on personal development such as, “How to Reduce Stress, “Developing Your Network Success”, are not eligible for recertification credits.  Additionally the program must be a formal education session lead by a qualified presenter and held exclusive of a meal. If the program is held in conjunction with a meal, the meal time is excluded from the program time when calculating recertification points.  If the program meets these criteria then it would be approved towards Recertification.  The supplier would be allowed to use the HRPA seal for marketing purposes and on certificates of completion.  The program is issued an ID number that is registered by the CHRP participants into the online recertification log.
