 Antoinette Blunt, RN, MPA, CHRP, SHRP

Chair, Human Resources Research Institute (HRRI)

Antoinette Blunt was appointed Chair of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) Board of Directors in May 2009.  She is also chair of the Board of the Human Resources Research Institute and represents HRPA as a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations.

She is President of Ironside Consulting Services Inc., a company specializing in the provision of a variety of human resources, labour relations and management services for employers in Northern Ontario.  

Antoinette also has more than 20 years’ management experience in the health care industry including Branch Executive Director, Victorian Order of Nurses Algoma and a term position as Provincial Director of Labour Relations for VON (Ontario).   

In 2005, Antoinette was named by the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce as the winner of the Athena Award, an internationally recognized award honouring exceptional women leaders, who inspire others to achieve excellence in their professional and personal lives.  In 2006 and 2007, Antoinette was nominated for a Northern Ontario Influential Woman Award. 

Daphne FitzGerald

Daphne FitzGerald was appointed Chair of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) Board of Directors in May 2011.  

Since 2002, she has been President of Pension Puzzle Inc. and Chief Operating Officer of Capital G Consulting Inc., providing specialized HR consulting services (Capital G) and retirement education seminars (Pension Puzzle) to Canadian employers.

Between 1974 and 2002, Daphne held a number of executive positions with Zurich Financial Services, including SVP of Corporate Development, managing all facets of Human Resources, Organizational Development, Strategic Planning, Corporate Communications and Public Relations. 

Daphne has been a member of HRPA and its predecessor organizations since 1976.  She has been a board member since 2005 and has chaired the Governance & Nominating Committee, the Government Relations Committee, the Audit & Finance Committee and the Human Resources & Compensation Committee.

In 2002, Daphne was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and in 1992 was a nominee of the Women Who Make a Difference Award (1992).

Andrew Covello, CHRP, SHRP

Andrew Covello is Vice President, Human Resources & Safety with Thunder Bay Hydro where he is responsible for all facets of Human Resources & Safety in a unionized setting while also serving on the utility’s Executive Team and as the Corporation’s Chief Privacy Officer. 

Andrew currently sits on the provincial OMERS Sponsors Corporation Advisory Committee, as Vice Chair of the Electrical Distributors Association’s HR Council, and as Vice Chair for the Electrical Distributors Association’s Northwestern Ontario District Executive.   A former member of the Board of Directors for the Human Resources Professionals Association, Andrew held the Chair positions for the Governance & Nominating and Complaints & Investigation Committees, and previously served on the Northwestern Ontario Chapter Executive’s Board of Directors between 1993 and 2004, including as President from 2000 to 2002. 

William (Bill) Greenhalgh, MBA, C. Dir.

CEO, Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA)

Bill Greenhalgh was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) in April 2006.

His previous positions include President of the Globe and Mail, CEO of Thomson’s Western Canada Newspaper Group; President of Cinram International; and COO of Shred it International as well as various line and staff positions in general management, operations, marketing and finance with Nortel Networks.

He was born in Derry in Northern Ireland and holds a Master’s Degree in Business from the London Business School, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southampton University, certificates from the Senior Executive Programs in both Manufacturing, and Marketing from Harvard Business School and is a graduate of both The Aspen Institute Executive Leadership Program and the Directors College at McMaster University.            

Bill also serves as HRPA Board Secretary and CEO and Board Secretary for the Human Resources Research Institute (HRRI). He is a member of the boards of both the North American Human Resources Associations (NAHRMA) and The Scarborough Hospital; and a past member of the boards of the Toronto Symphony, the Commonwealth Games Club and the Canadian Foundation for the Preservation of Chinese Cultural Treasures.

Deidre Henne, MBA, CA

Deidre Henne holds the positions of Director of Research for Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) and Chief Operating Officer for the Population Health Research Institute. Deidre began working with Hamilton Health Sciences in 2002 as a Senior Financial Officer overseeing the hospital's research financial administration portfolio. Since then, she has held additional roles for HHS including financial accounting oversight for the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

Deidre graduated from McMaster University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hon). She articled with Ernst & Young LLP in Hamilton and obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2001. In 2009, Deidre was recognized as an Ivey Scholar, when she completed her executive Masters of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario.

She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

Maureen Lacroix

Maureen Lacroix is former Area Manager of Long Term Care with the Districts of Sudbury Manitoulin &  Algoma, Ministry of Health & Long Term Care Ontario, a position she retired from in the late 1990s. As a community activist, nurse and manager, she has spent more than 30 years helping improve health-care programs and services for northerners. Currently the chair of the Northern Cancer Research Foundation, she also co-chaired the Heart and Soul Campaign, representing the Northern Cancer Research Foundation in a $45.7 million community fundraising partnership.

Kim Pepper, LLB

Kim Pepper is a partner at Hicks Morley LLP, a national management-side labour and employment law firm.  Kim advises both public and private sector clients on a wide variety of labour and employment law matters including human rights, employment standards, collective agreement administration, labour injunctions, attendance management, discipline and termination. Kim has served on several boards and committees including HRPA, Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter (Toronto) and Ridley College (St. Catharines).
