Jo-Ann Ball CHRP
Jo-Ann Ball is currently the Vice President of Human Resources for Magellan Aerospace Corporation. Prior to joining Magellan she held progressively senior appointments in the retail, medical and the financial services sector. Jo-Ann’s areas of expertise are pension and benefit governance and financial oversight, labour relations, executive recruitment, executive compensation and HR planning.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from York University; and is a graduate of the Executive Program at Columbia University and the Advanced Program in Organizational Development and Human Resources Management from Columbia University.

Jo-Ann believes in volunteer activity within her community. Presently she is a Board Director with HRPA since 2009. She has served as the Member Board Development Committee of HRPA, Executive Development Chair for the Ontario Aerospace Council, and Vice Chair for the Toronto Board of Trade’s Labour Law Committee, and has participated on several advisory committees in the aerospace sector. She has also been a speaker at functions for the Canadian Manufacturers Association, Ryerson Polytechnic University and Nova Scotia Technology Group.

Antoinette Blunt RN, CHRP, SHRP
Chair
Antoinette is President of Ironside Consulting Services Inc., a company in business for over twelve years, that specializes in the provision of a variety of human resources, labour relations and management services for employers in Northern Ontario. She is currently the Chair of the Board of the Human Resources Research Institute and is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Directors of the Human Resources Professional Association. Antoinette is also an External Director on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations and Chair of the Standards Advisory Committee. Antoinette has over 20 years experience in management in the health care industry including Branch Executive Director, Victorian Order of Nurses Algoma and a term position as Provincial Director of Labour Relations for VON (Ontario). In 2005, Antoinette was named by the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce as the winner of the Athena Award, an internationally recognized award honouring exceptional women leaders, who inspire others to achieve excellence in their professional and personal lives.

Andrew Covello CHRP, SHRP
A graduate of the University of Toronto in Advanced Human Resources Management and York University/Schulich Business School in Leadership, Andrew also holds the designation of Certified Human Resources Professional and Senior Human Resources Professional.
Andrew has over 20 years experience in Human Resources & Safety and is currently employed as Vice President, Human Resources & Safety with Thunder Bay Hydro where he is responsible for all facets of Human Resources & Safety in a unionized setting while also serving on the utility’s Executive Team and as the Corporation’s Chief Privacy Officer.

Andrew also sits on the provincial OMERS Sponsors Corporation Advisory Committee, as Chair of the Electrical Distributors Association’s HR Council, and as Chair for the Electrical Distributors Association’s Northwestern Ontario District Executive. A former member of the Board of Directors for the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario, Andrew held the Chair positions for the Governance & Nominating and Complaints & Investigation Committees, and previously served on the Northwestern Ontario Chapter Executive’s Board of Directors between 1993 and 2004, including as President from 2000 to 2002.

Daphne FitzGerald CHRP, SHRP
Chair, Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA)
Daphne FitzGerald was appointed Chair of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) Board of Directors in May 2011.
Since 2002, she has been President of Pension Puzzle Inc. and Chief Operating Officer of Capital G Consulting Inc., providing specialized HR consulting services (Capital G) and retirement education seminars (Pension Puzzle) to Canadian employers.

Between 1974 and 2002, Daphne held a number of executive positions with Zurich Financial Services, including SVP of Corporate Development, managing all facets of Human Resources, Organizational Development, Strategic Planning, Corporate Communications and Public Relations.
Daphne has been a member of HRPA and its predecessor organizations since 1976. She has been a board member since 2005 and has chaired the Governance & Nominating Committee, the Government Relations Committee, the Audit & Finance Committee and the Human Resources & Compensation Committee.

In 2002, Daphne was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and in 1992 was a nominee of the Women Who Make a Difference Award (1992).

William (Bill) Greenhalgh MBA, C. Dir.
Secretary
CEO, Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA)
Bill Greenhalgh was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) in April 2006.
His previous positions include President of the Globe and Mail, CEO of Thomson’s Western Canada Newspaper Group; President of Cinram International; and COO of Shred it International as well as various line and staff positions in general management, operations, marketing and finance with Nortel Networks.

He was born in Derry in Northern Ireland and holds a Master’s Degree in Business from the London Business School, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Southampton University, certificates from the Senior Executive Programs in both Manufacturing, and Marketing from Harvard Business School and is a graduate of both The Aspen Institute Executive Leadership Program and the Directors College at McMaster University.

Bill also serves as HRPA Board Secretary and CEO and Board Secretary for the Human Resources Research Institute (HRRI). He is a member of the boards of both the North American Human Resources Associations (NAHRMA) and The Scarborough Hospital; and a past member of the boards of the Toronto Symphony, the Commonwealth Games Club and the Canadian Foundation for the Preservation of Chinese Cultural Treasures.

Deidre Henne MBA, CA
Deidre Henne holds the position of AVP (Administration) and Chief Financial Officer at McMaster University. She formerly held the positions of Director of Research for Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) and Chief Operating Officer for the Population Health Research Institute. Deidre began working with Hamilton Health Sciences in 2002 as a Senior Financial Officer overseeing the hospital's research financial administration portfolio. Since then, she has held additional roles for HHS including financial accounting oversight for the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
Deidre graduated from McMaster University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hon). She articled with Ernst & Young LLP in Hamilton and obtained her Chartered Accountant designation in 2001. In 2009, Deidre was recognized as an Ivey Scholar, when she completed her executive Masters of Business Administration at the University of Western Ontario. She is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

Chris Larsen
Chris Larsen is Vice president, Marketing and Membership at the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) where he is responsible for marketing, strategic alliances, business development and member services. Prior to joining HRPA in March of 2007, Chris was Chief Operating Officer of McDonnell Haynes Advertising of Toronto and was founder of Virtual Billboard Network, one of Canada’s first Internet media companies. In the early ‘90’s Chris ran a network consulting group at ISM, a unit of IBM Canada, and was SVP Operations for an Internet engineering firm. Chris holds a B.A. from the University of South Florida.

Gary Monk CMA
Treasurer & Privacy Officer
Gary is currently the Vice-President, Finance & Information Technology with the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). He originally started employment with HRPA in 1995, and was promoted to his current role in 2001. Prior to joining HRPA, Gary held various roles in other organizations, including with Apple Canada Inc., the Canadian Diabetes Association and with a company in the biotechnology industry. Gary graduated from the University of Guelph in 1990 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hon.), and obtained his Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation in 2000. He also holds the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification through the Canadian Payroll Association. Gary is a member of the Certified Management Accountants of Ontario, the Canadian Payroll Association, the Canadian Society for Association Executives (CSAE) and the Institute of Management Accountants.

Kimberly (Kim) Pepper LL.B
Vice-Chair
Kim is a Partner at Hicks Morley LLP. Kim Pepper regularly advises both public and private sector clients on a wide variety of labour and employment law matters including human rights, employment standards, collective agreement administration, labour injunctions, attendance management, discipline and termination. Kim regularly represents employers in proceedings before the Ontario Superior Court and various administrative tribunals including the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. Kim’s practice focuses on employment law with an emphasis on wrongful dismissal litigation.
Kim is a former Director of the Board of the Human Resources Professional Association and served on various committees of that Board including the Governance and Nominating Committee and Human Resources and Compensation Committee. Kim has also served on the Board of Governors of Ridley College (St. Catharines, Ontario) and was a former Board member and Chair of the Board of Directors of Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter (Toronto, Ontario). Kim is a graduate of the University of Alberta (Commerce) and completed her law degree at the University of Victoria. Kim was called to the Bar in 1995 (British Columbia) and 1998 (Ontario).

Andrew Templer M.A., MSc, Ph.D, CHRP
Andrew Templer is Professor of Management in the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor. He earned his MSc from London School of Economics and his doctorate from the University of Witwatersrand. He has published more than 100 academic papers in such distinguished scholarly journals as Personnel Psychology, Human Resources Professional, Canadian Journal of Administrative Sciences, International Journal of Management and the Journal of Managerial Psychology. He is also the author of several business management textbooks in Canada and serves as general editor of Pearson Education Canada's series for HR professionals.

He served for 12 years on the Board of the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) and was Chair of its Professional Standards Committee. He is a member of the Windsor Advisory Board for the Salvation Army and the Healthy Workplace Committee on the Board of Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, Windsor. At the national level, he is Vice President Awards on the Executive of the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada and received the Right Management HR Academic of the Year award for 2011. Prior to joining the Board of HRRI, he was Chair of the Peer Review Committee.

Phil Wilson SHRP CHRP
Phil gained twenty-five years plus of progressively responsible experience in the Human Resources field. He provided Global leadership as Vice President H.R. at Corel. As Senior Vice President of Shared Services, H.R. at CIBC Phil led a global, multifunctional, shared services team of HR professionals (125) responsible for CIBC’s executive leadership and training programs, Organizational development, Executive Resourcing (talent management), Global Recruitment Strategies, and Business Process Outsourcing. Phil sponsored the successful implementation of PeopleSoft across CIBC. He also headed the HR function of CIBC World Markets, Canada. Prior to joining CIBC in 1994, Phil spent 11.6 years with Northern Telecom in global strategic and operational HR roles within North America and Europe. Phil began his career in H.R. with CAE Electronics, Montreal. He graduated from McGill University with a major degree in industrial relations and a minor in economics.

In the August 2006 publication of HR Professional magazine Phil was selected as one of 5 Stars of HR Innovation in Canada. He was the recipient of the Human Resource Professional Leadership Award 2005.

Phil serves as a board director on HRPA and chaired the Governance & Nominating Committee, the Human Resources Committee and the Audit and Finance Committee. He is currently Vice Chair of the HRPA. He volunteered on the board of the York University Human Resources Advisory Council and in this capacity chaired the York University H.R. Research Committee. He served on the York University Atkinson Management School Dean’s Advisory Board. As a director of the board of Career Edge since 2000 he has chaired it’s Human Resources Committee. This organization is a private sector not-for-profit organization that was launched in 1996 to provide internships for graduates of all disciplines.
