Human Resources Professionals Association -
Barrie and District Chapter
The HRPA Barrie and District has been in existence supporting local businesses since the early 1980’s. Its beginnings include a group of manufacturing companies in our region meeting regularly and supporting each other with their HR related matters.
Today our membership is up towards 600 members with 50% working in the HR field and holding their CHRP, 30% having HR responsibilities and 20% representing full time students in our area. The industries we serve have extended far beyond manufacturing and include robust areas of retail, wholesale, hospitality, service, and professional services in the private sector and in the public sector they include health care, education, law enforcement and government.
The Executive Board works diligently to provide excellent professional development, networking, camaraderie and mentoring within a diverse geographical area which includes:
- Simcoe North
- Simcoe Grey
- Parry Sound-Muskoka
Our Executive Board is comprised of 7 volunteer members that meet monthly (or more often when required) to fulfill the annual needs of our members. Our offerings include monthly dinner meetings (with the exception of the summer months),four breakfast meetings, a monthly newsletter, a one day conference, a full day event, Total Rewards survey, mentoring program and desktop calendar.
