Janet Banting, CHRP, Learning & Development
This Director's main objective is to ensure delivery of quality professional development seminars, workshops, or other learning events throughout the year at a reasonable cost to our members and future members.  
 
Membership Outreach
The Director of Membership Outreach is responsible for the retention and recruitment of members, liaising with the membership to identify needs and priorities and, assessment of the satisfaction level with the current services and programs.
 
Gary Brown, Membership Engagement
This Director's main objective is to foster member engagement through the delivery of high quality networking and information sessions, including dinner meetings and special events such as Net Night and our networking event at the annual HRPA conference.  
 
Claude Brunette, CHRP, Secretary / Treasurer
The Treasurer ensures that Chapter revenues and expenditures are managed in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. 
 
Sue Haywood, CHRP, Community Relations & Marketing
The Director is responsible for marketing the Chapter's activities to current and future members and the business community at large to enhance the profile of the Association. This position will also be responsible for managing the relationships with potential partners, sponsors, and others who seek access to our members.  
 
Rica Lam, CHRP, Publications
The Director of Publications is responsible to generate relevant and timely articles and advertisements in order to publish the Up-Date Magazine. The Director of Publications is also responsible for developing and maintaining a written editorial and advertising policy document.
 
Kristina Patsula, CHRP, Student Outreach & Scholarship
The Director is responsible for fostering positive relationships with students attending local post-secondary institutions who are pursuing studies in Human Resources or who have an interest in a career in Human Resources. This position is also responsible to oversee the maintenance and delivery of all HRPA Ottawa Chapter Scholarship programs.  
 
Jennifer Nasrallah, CHRP Volunteers & Recognition
The Volunteer Services Director's objective is to encourage volunteer participation by HRPA, Ottawa Chapter members and to support and recognize the volunteer members' contribution to the chapter, and to co-organize the various recognition activities sponsored by the Board.
 
Elizabeth Roberts, CHRP, Mentoring & Designations
The objective of the Director of Mentoring and Designations is to support the career development of Chapter members at all levels by managing a formal mentoring program, and also providing support to Internationally Educated Human Resources Professionals integrating into the Ottawa Chapter Community. This portfolio includes promoting and engaging with members and non-members holding the CHRP and SHRP designations.   
 
Steve Williams, LLB, Government Relations
The Government Relations Liaison is responsible for liaising with the HRPA Director, Government and External Relations for the purpose of exchanging and disseminating information; providing chapter input on government legislation, policy and issues; and identifying government issues that are important to members.

The HRPA Ottawa Chapter is dedicated to the provision of leadership in the development of the HR profession. To ensure we move forward with our goal, we rely on the expertise, leadership and commitment of our talented Board members. Although each Board member has their own portfolio of activities and goals for each year, they all work together to reach common objectives. For 2011-2012, our overall priorities are to:

  • Continue strengthening our profile in the Ottawa community
  • Build membership
  • Demonstrate initiative and leadership on HR issues
