The following is a general outline of the HRPLD Mentoring Program timeline, highlighting key activities and events throughout the program year.

August/September

  • August our application period for current year opens
  • Mentoring Committee receives completed application forms
  • Mentoring Committee communicates with each applicant via email and phone calls
  • Application deadline September 9th 2011

September / October

  • Mentoring Committee matches Mentor and Mentee pairs
  • Mentoring Committee provides applicants updates on their status
  • Orientation Session takes place in late September or early October - time commitment approximately 2 hours on a week night

October to February

  • Mentor and Mentee pairs complete their Mentoring Partnership Agreements - outlining goals and expectations
  • Individual Mentor and Mentee pairs set a schedule at their own discretion for ongoing communication via email, phone, or face to face meetings

February

  • Mid-Year Event for Mentoring Program Participants - time commitment approximately 2 hours on a week night
  • Mentor-Mentee pairs are encouraged to complete their "Mid-Year Partnership Review"

February to June

  • Individual Mentor and Mentee pairs continue to communicate according to their needs

May / June

  • Year-End Event for Mentoring Program Participants - time commitment approximately 2 hours on a week night
  • Participants are asked to submit Year-End Partnership Evaluations and Program Evaluations

The program year and related commitments formally end in June each year. However, individual Mentor-Mentee pairs are encouraged to determine if they wish to informally continue their partnership.
