President

Julie Jamieson, CHRP

The President is responsible for directing the effective and fiscal operations of the Chapter including overseeing the Board of Directors in order to meet the needs of members and to ensure conformance with Chapter and HRPA By-Laws. The President is the principal liaison between HRPA and the Chapter membership, a key member of the HRPA leadership team, responsible for raising the association and professional profile.

President – Elect

Stefanie Bradley, CHRP

The President Elect will assist the President in overseeing Chapter activities, assumes specific responsibilities as assigned by the President, and may assume the duties of the President in their absence. Develops a broad understanding of Chapter management in preparation for assuming the role of President. Chairs the Mentorship Committee and oversees the Chapter Mentorship program. The Director will be responsible for ensuring quality of information relating to the “Mentorship Program” on the chapter website.

Past President

B. Linda Yates, CHRP

The Past President provides support to the President and Chapter Board Directors in the performance of their duties and responsibilities to the Chapter. Works on special projects as requested including strategic planning and other Chapter programs. May assume the duties of the President in their absence.

Administrative Director

Janet Magee, CHRP

The Administrative Director will be responsible for the official correspondence and minutes of all Board meetings as well as the Annual General Meeting. The Director will ensure that minutes of the Committee meetings are included in the records of the Chapter and maintain other Chapter records as requested. In conjunction with other Board Directors, they are responsible for organizing venues and arranging facilities for monthly general meetings.



Finance Director

The Director of Finance is accountable for the accurate and timely reporting of all financial transactions for the Chapter. Prepares financial statements using recognized accounting principles and liaises with the Chapter’s accounting firm regarding year-end audits. Safeguards Chapter funds through accurate banking, release of funds, investment of capital and annual budget preparation.

Programs Co- Directors

Gerry Walsh, CHRP  and  Stephen J. Goodwin

In consultation with the Chapter Board and based on the results of the annual program survey soliciting feedback from members, the Programs Director will organize monthly programs. The Director will introduce guest speakers at all events and arrange for the appropriate compensation for the speaker; serve as host to guest speakers and arrange accommodations, equipment and facilities as required. Chapter representative on the HRPA Program Committee. The Director will be responsible for ensuring quality of information relating to “Programs” on the chapter website.

Brandy

Communications Director

Brandy Douglas , CHRP

The Communications Director is responsible for the preparation and issuing of notices as required to members taking a lead role in ensuring accurate and timely distribution. The Director will respond to inquiries relating to meetings and notices, establish an attendee list and name tags for monthly events, oversee the monthly event registration table, prepare guest receipts, reconcile guest payments and submit to the Finance Director. The Director along with the website committee will be responsible for ensuring qualify of information on the chapter website.

Membership Director

Diane Oosterveld, CHRP

The Membership Director will be responsible for the review and processing of all membership applications; ensuring new members are introduced at membership meetings; and conducting exit interviews. The Director will seek opportunities to promote membership and will prepare reports as requested by the Board. They will act as the Chapter representative on the HRPA Membership Committee. The Director will be responsible for ensuring qualify of information on the “Membership” section of the chapter website.

 

Public Relations Director

Crystal Dunlop, CHRP

The Public Relations Director will Chair a Public Relations Committee that will engage in promoting the Chapter through various communications media to raise awareness regarding the Chapter. The Director may prepare and make presentations while building public awareness and increasing goodwill. The Director will be responsible for ensuring quality of information relating to “Public Relations Programs” on the chapter website.

Student Relations Director

The Student Relations Director liaises between the local Chapter and students enrolled in Human Resources programs at the college and university level. Promotes and supports HRPA and the CHRP designation. Develops improved relationships with students and educational organizations. Interfaces with the HRM Student Association at the local university. Organizes student events, contributes to increasing communication between the Chapter and students. The Director will be responsible for ensuring qualify of information relating to “Student Relations/Scholarship” on the chapter website.

Director at Large, Government Liaison

This portfolio is currently being managed under the direction of the President.

The Government Affairs Liaison will be the primary contact on government affairs matters including liaising with HRPA for the purpose of exchanging and disseminating information. Providing Chapter input on government legislation, policy and issues; and identifying government issues that are important to members.
