The members of the HRPAD are committed to making the Durham Region an exemplary community in which to work and achieve successful business results. This will be achieved by:
- Advocating excellence in the leadership of Human Resources
- Providing opportunities for professional development and advancement
- Promoting the Human Resources profession and designation
Historical Note
The Human Resources Professionals Association of Durham Region (HRPAD) was founded in February 1982 through the efforts of a 12 member task force from local industry. The Association is governed by an elected board. It is a constituent Chapter of the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario. An association with a heritage of over a half century, and a board based membership of Human Resources Management practitioners. It is North America's largest community-based HR organization.
HRPAD has experienced significant growth since it's initial membership. We now have over 340 members representing more than 100 organizations and companies in the private and public sectors. In September 1982, the local association became associated with the Personnel Association of Ontario. PAO has since become the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario with over 10,000 members.
